Estoril is a beautiful cosmopolitan beach resort, situated fifteen miles from the Portuguese capital of Lisbon on the Costa de Lisboa (Lisbon Coast). A wonderfully chic town, with an array of narrow sandy blue-flag beaches, endless promenades and some of the country's best golf courses.

With a population of over 24,000 inhabitants, Estoril is a significant fishing port and a highly reputed town amongst the rich and famous. Since the Second World War, the area has been popular with European monarchies. As a result of Portugal's neutral status during the war, Estoril became a safe haven for exiled royalty.

Highlights of the glorious Estoril coastline include the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sintra, a traditional Portuguese town that is home to breath-taking palaces and national parks, the largest casino in Europe and the popular Estoril Autodome. No matter your age, if it's rest, relaxation and some of Portugal's most superb attractions that you're after then Estoril, set along a beautiful stretch of Atlantic coastline, ticks all the right boxes.

Sintra

The beautiful town of Sintra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its elegant, romantic architecture has presented the town with this status, propelling tourism in the area. Notable highlights here include the spectacular, colourful 19th century Pena Palace.

Estoril Park

Set above the coast, this park features flourishing botanical gardens, beautifully carved statues and fountains. An excellent place to catch some shade from the Portuguese sun or simply take a peaceful stroll around the town. (not shown).

Casino Estoril

The largest casino across Europe and tthe inspiration behind the 2006 blockbuster, Casino Royale. This grand 1930's building hosts an array of fascinating art exhibitions and concerts, and houses numerous bars and lounges.

Tamariz Beach

With powdery soft sand, protected by rocks at each end, this stretch of coastline is a brilliant place to relax by day. With the train station close by and a fantastic selection of bars and cafe's along the promenade, there is plenty for everyone.

Boca do Inferno

Portuguese for 'Hell's Mouth', this fascinating rock formation feels the full force of the Atlantic, as waves burst through holes in the huge cave walls, creating spectacular displays from afar. Also nearby is the lighthouse of O Farol de Santa Marta.

Estoril Autodrome

The former site of the Portuguese Formula One. This famous track has since been renovated and is now home to a range of international motosports, including MotoGP and numerous local events.
