Granada is the capital of the province with the same name Granada, situated at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains in the eastern part of the autonomous Andalucian region. The striking backdrop of the mountains, coupled with the meeting of the three rivers, the Beiro, the Darro and the Genil provides a beautiful natural setting. Granada is 738m above sea level, but only an hour from the Mediterranean coast, or head for the mountains to enjoy skiing and other alpine recreations.
Arab BathsThis magnificent Roman Catholic cathedral is the largest cathedral in Spain and the third largest across the globe. It was built on the site of a grand Almohad Mosque in the 16th century and today it has the longest nave in Spain.
