Hohensalzburg
Overlooking the city, atop the Festungsberg mountain, is the remarkable medieval castle of Hohensalzburg. Erected in 1077 to protect the city from invasions, it features a richly decorated interior and intricate wooden carvings.
Residenzplatz
The main square in Salzburg at the heart of the city's historic centre. Its origins date back to the 16th century and today it's surrounded by beautiful architecture with the famous Residenzbrunnen fountain lying at its magnificent centre.
Hellbrunn Palace
This palace looks much like a large country manor house, situated in beautiful parklands by the River Salzach. Its grounds are complimented with impressive water features, fountains and a theatre featuring over 100 water powered statues.
Mozart's Birthplace
Located at Getreidegasse 9 is the birthplace of famous composer Wolfgang Mozart. Today a museum is housed here, featuring the composer's musical instruments, portraits and other memorabilia documenting his lifetime.
