Whilst it doesn't quite rival Milan or Paris, Krakow has some superb shopping facilities, whatever you're looking for. Around the city there are some outstanding independent boutiques, located particularly in the pedestrianised Old Town area, selling vintage fashion, traditional Polish handicrafts and a huge variety of antiques.

Over the last few years, Krakow has seen an invasion of huge shopping centres and department stores popping up all over the city and the arrival of international stores such as Tesco. The largest shopping centre in Krakow, the Galeria Krakowska, boasts hundreds of shops, restaurants and café's within a huge complex, a shopper's paradise.

To capture the real essence of Krakow and take home something really unique, head over to Focha 1 for an enormous variety of hand-crafted Polish goods, or pay a visit to one of the local markets for a bargain, including the vibrant food stalls at Stary Kleparz, situated in Rynek Kleparski.

Many shops in Krakow are open from around 10am until late evening (generally between 7pm and 9pm depending on which district you're in) and some are even open 24 hours a day. Shopping centres, flagship stores and hypermarkets are generally all open 7 days a week. Some shops are also tax-free so look out for the signs in store windows to grab yourself a bargain.

A luxury designer shopping centre situated on Krakow's main market square, with a plentitude of books, clothing, fashion accessories and wine on sale. Open daily from 11:00 - 21:00 (Sundays until 17:00).

This shop houses one of the finest tea collections in Krakow, selling a range of superb gifts and souvenirs, from dainty teacups and hand-painted pots to over 100 varieties of tea from across the world. Open Mon - Fri from 09:00 - 18:00 (until 18:30 during Nov & Dec) and Sat from 09:30 - 13:30.
