A visit to Marrakech can guarantee you a holiday full of wonderful sights, sounds and experiences. Aside from those, Marrakech does also have its own agenda of cultural events and festivals throughout the year that may be of interest to any visitor. You can pick up the free monthly entertainment guide, Marrakech Pocket (www.marrakechpocket.com) from shops and hotels. Although it is all in French, it's easy enough to spot the latest art exhibitions, cultural events, bar openings etc. However, a good point to note when planning your visit to Marrakech, is that like other Islamic festivals, the holy month of Ramadan is a moveable feast, around 11 days earlier each successive year in the Western calendar. Visit during Ramadan and you will find some shops and attractions closing at irregular hours, as the Islamic people concentrate on prayer and contemplation.
